Hello Blog world!
My name is Megan and I've decided to start writing a blog. I have always enjoyed writing in a diary or journal so why not make the big girl leap to a blog! I was inspired today to begin this journey while helping my mother clean out my childhood closet. I found 7 journals dating back to 1992! They were very funny to read and I"ll tell you more about them in a minute. First, a little about me.
I was born and raised in East Tennessee which included most of the Southern traditions you would associate with this. Sundays were spent at my Grandma's house with pinto beans and cornbread, and my brother and I spent our summers outside putting pennies on railroad tracks letting the trains smash them paper thin. I was blessed with a tremendously nurturing and loving childhood. My brother and I were/are best friends, and our parents are unfailingly supportive. I am now a Physician Assistant in Pediatrics and am in love with my job and my life.
In this blog I will try to narrow it down to three main topics: Medicine/Health, Crafting, Weight loss. I can't guarantee I won't sometimes through in a random post, but hey, keeps us on our toes!
1)Medicine & Health. Well this is an obvious one. As I mentioned before I am a Physician Assistant. I attended PA school in WV have been in primary care pediatrics since graduation. I could not have picked a better field of medicine for my personality. I am a nurturer by nature, and have always gravitated to children. I will try to offer health advice, and when I have an encounter with a patient that is too cute to pass up I'll be sure to post.
2) Crafting. This is something that I have enjoyed since childhood. I use crafting as a creative outlet that is an escape from my work. I enjoy all kinds of projects small and large. My most recent crafting project is of course a Pinterest inspired coffee table re-do. Surprisingly It worked out really well for my first try. I will post pics in a separate entry soon.
3)Weight loss. As I mentioned earlier I found 7 journals in my childhood home closet today as I was helping my mom pack to move. ALL, and I mean ALL, of them included an entry about my weight. My weight has been a huge struggle in my life, and continues to be. The hope is by putting this blog out in the world it will hold me accountable. I am weak, and I need strength. That's where I'm gonna try to go with this. I want to share my journey and hopefully will help someone else with theirs.
So, there it is. That's what we're gonna do. Hopefully it will be interesting enough for you to follow. If nothing else, its an outlet for me to write and get life off of my chest.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy!
~Meg
